(今日の新聞に何かおもしろいことが出ていますか). (2) 否定文で anything を主語に用いることはできない. 従って, Nothing that I've written has been published. (自分の書いたものは何一つ出版されていない)を A that I've written has not been published. とは言えない. nything but (1) …のほかなら何でも ･I will do anything but that. そのほかのことなら何でもする, そればっかりはご免だ. (2) 決して…ではない, …どころではない ･He is anything but a scholar. どうして彼が学者なものか ･She is anything but bright. 彼女は頭がいいもんか. nything ding? (1) 何かおもしろいことがあるかい? (2) 何かお手伝いすることは? nything lke… ⇒like1 . nything of… (1) [否定文に用いて] 少しも…(でない, しない) ･I haven't seen anything of Smith lately. 最近スミスにはちっとも会わない. (2) [疑問文に用いて] 少しは… ･“Is he anything of a batter?” “Yes, they say he is something of a batter.” 「彼は少しはボールが打てる人ですか」「ええ, ちょっとしたものらしいですよ」. nything you sy. おっしゃるとおりにします, 承知しました.
